Development of a central DC for ambitious retailer Mega Image in Popesti-Leordeni, south-east of Bucharest.

Mega Image is a Romanian supermarket chain owned by Delhaize Group, a Belgian international food retailer present in six countries (United States, Belgium, Greece, Romania, Indonesia, Luxembourg) on three continents. Mega Image has currently 47 stores in Bucharest, Constanta and Ploiesti and is continuously growing its store network.

Archicom started with the order to carry out distribution network and method analyses for Mega Image. These analyses allow determining the size of the new DC to be built in Bucharest.

The order for Archicom is for the development of a central DC having both controlled and non-controlled temperature areas.

Like many other contacts, that with Mega Image first arose during the logistics seminars organised by Archicom in recent years in Bucharest. In addition, Archicom has carried out a great deal of research in the last few years into the developments in the Romanian retail market, and the growth and problems in this market segment. These activities have given Archicom a huge lead in terms of knowledge in this field compared with local players on the Romanian market.
